David Guest (BA Hons)
David has been plying his craft since the early eighties when he was one of the few academically trained commercial photographers in a graphic design setting.
He received his BA hons degree from one of the countries leading Art and Design schools; Leicester Polytechnic (now DeMontford University) where he worked with some of the best photographers and designers of the time. Since graduating, he spent a short time working as a photographers assistant in London for a major commercial studio, but in 1984 David returned to his home county of Devon, and spent many years building up an active client base there.
For more than twenty years David operated a successful photography and design business in the South West of England producing high quality studio and location photography in all formats as well as complete brochure and catalogue production for a large number of local companies. He is also an experienced wedding photographer and has recently re launched his business offering an affordable high quality digital wedding service in the traditional style. The prolonged illness of his mother had a major impact on his work and in 2003 he gave up his commercial business in order to care for his ailing parent. No longer constrained to client deadlines and budgets, he was free to concentrate on his own work and started revisiting some of his favourite locations on Dartmoor where he had spent a lot of time in his youth. The resulting images can be seen in the landscape pages on this web site and are available as limited edition Giclee prints or, in certain cases, large scale photographic prints.
